Alternative Means of Advertising Your Small Business

When you first set up a small business, you take all sorts of steps to make your brand and your products stand out from the crowd.

Regardless of what product area you’re specialising in, it’s highly likely that there’s a lot of competition out there and that the market is relatively saturated.

Now, one of the best ways to draw positive attention to what you’re selling is to come up with innovative means of advertising. You are going to find yourself coming up with ad campaigns to launch your company, launch new product lines, and maybe even rebrand.

But what types of advertising could you try out to stand out from the crowd? Here are a few ideas to get the ball rolling in the right direction.

Vehicle Advertising

If you have a company car, consider using your vehicle itself as a means of advertisement.

You can collaborate with graphic design professionals who could have your company name or logo transferred onto your vehicle’s exteriors.

You could even add some information such as your business contact number or website address. This allows people to see your brand and look you up.

If you want to go the extra mile (excuse the pun), you could even have a private label air freshener manufactured for your customers to place in their own vehicles too!  What a great idea!

When you advertise, you need to place your products and brands where people are already directing their attention.

Nowadays, we are living in the technological age and the majority of people tend to be focusing more of their attention on social media than they ever have before. They spend hours on end browsing their friend’s profiles and other profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

While we do generally associate social media with people’s personal lives, you should embrace it as a space where your business can flourish and establish itself too.

Of course, you can set up a business page on these platforms. But think a little more outside of the box.

You could engage with social media influencers! Put simply, a social media influencer is somebody who has a huge following. They may have hundreds of thousands of followers, they may even have millions! This means that a lot of people are looking at what they’re doing and what they’re sharing.

If you get in their good books, you could ask them to post a recommendation of your products or your company. This could result in a serious spike in your sales, as their followers will click links to your page and website and begin to browse your stock.

If you do decide to advertise through social media influencers, make sure that they have followers for a good reason. You don’t want to associate your brand with controversy or infamy.

These are just two alternative means of advertising!

There are plenty more out there that you could try out. Be experimental and give something new a go!
