The first thing that you need to start with is your desk. Write down the requirements that you have, whether it is a desk organiser, paper storage area or even a monitor stand.

When you have done this, you can then create a space that works for you.

If you want to get some ideas then Eames tables are a great place to start. You can easily learn more about such tables here.

Taming your Cords

If you are working from home, then there is a high chance that you are going to be relying on a huge range of electronic devices. This can include a printer, scanner, desktop PC, telephone and more.

The problem with this is that you will have a ton of wires to deal with and this can make it difficult for you to keep your space organised.

Luckily, it’s more than possible for you to tidy things up by using some double-sided Velcro. It won’t take long, but this DIY hack can completely transform your office.

It’s so important that you light up your space properly. Your space should feel like a home office, and therefore shouldn’t have bright white uncomfortable lighting.

Instead, opt for a warm yellow bulb, or even add a lamp instead. It’s more than possible for you to be creative here, so think about adding some lights above your desk or even build an extendable light into the wall so you can pull it out whenever you need that bit of extra lighting.

Your office should always have a really bright colour for a feature wall. When designing your home, you want it to be stylish and your office should be no different.

Sometimes bright colours can give you some inspiration and it can also help you to really stay energised during those late-night working hours.

Second Monitors

It’s more than possible for you to build a desk extension to accommodate a second monitor. This needs to be higher up than the monitor you normally use so that you can glance at it without having to worry about straining your neck.

Boost your WiFi

Sometimes, your WiFi signal might not be everything you need it to be. If you are struggling to get a signal in your office for any reason at all then you can put some tin foil behind the router.

Shape this into a curve, to bounce the signal away from the wall, and towards the room of your choice. You will see an instant improvement.

If this doesn’t work, then you can buy a booster and install a shelf in your office so that you get the maximum signal.
