Signs You are in a Healthy Relationship

Guest Post by Ethan Clark

Many people are fascinated with the idea of having a soulmate. Humans are not beings of solitude. We all need to be in a relationship at some point in our lives.

Relationships are critical to our wellbeing and the wellbeing of our family.  Some of us might feel we were not lucky enough to be with the right person and, of course, it’s also about being the right person for our mate.

Finding the right partner has been a goal that people have tried to achieve since we are not all capable of seeing what will happen in the future.

It is quite difficult to know if you are in a relationship that is right for you. Being in a relationship means that you have to invest both physically and emotionally and this means that you might end up wasting a lot of your time in a relationship that might not work.

So, here are some of the signs that suggest you are in a healthy relationship.

An essential contributor to a good relationship is giving each other space.

Although you may want to spend most of the time with your partner, you should both at least have time on your own to embark on your endeavours like hobbies and interests.

Needing to know what your partner is doing all the time or who he or she is with is not healthy. You will end up having insecurities, which is always a negative thing in a relationship.

If both of you can give each other some space and respect it, then you are on the right track.

You Are Free to Speak Your Mind

An important aspect that makes up a healthy relationship is the ability to have excellent communication between you and your better half.

If you find it easy to communicate freely with your partner, then you are in the right relationship.

Many people find it hard to say certain things to their partner with the view that their relationship might face some problems.

You should speak your mind in a healthy relationship despite what you may think the results will be. Always telling the truth will ensure that you have an honest and healthy relationship.

There is Trust

Being in a relationship is not always a bed of roses and there are sure to be many ups and downs along the way. Trust is what makes a relationship durable during hard times and both you and your partner should trust each other all the time.

An indicator that you are in a healthy relationship is that you can trust your partner’s ability to remain loyal to you and keep his or her promises. Constant lack of trust means that the relationship is not intended for both of you.

Conclusion

Having good relationships takes a lot of work and commitments from both ends. Both people involved have to sacrifice some things for each other to ensure that they are both happy.

Are you in a healthy relationship?  What do you do for your partner that makes them feel safe and loved? And what do they do for you? Do you have these three fundamentals in place?
