Need More Hands On Deck? Why Outsourcing Could Be Your Best Option

What is the Benefit of Outsourcing?

Well, for a start, there’s more than one benefit.  I see 2 clear benefits of Outsourcing:

  1. Handing over important but time-consuming tasks to free me up to do core work that only I can do or that I do best
  2. Handing over work that is out of my field of expertise to industry experts

When I was first considering Outsourcing a few months ago, I  was nervous to hand over the reigns to a stranger.  I came up with a brainwave – to hire my Mom as my VA.  I approached her and, thankfully, she loved the idea because having her onboard is the perfect solution for this stage of my online business.

That’s not to say I won’t look at further outsourcing in the future. I have already noticed certain gaps in my expertise that I’d rather outsource to professionals.

Three more excellent Benefits of Outsourcing outlined in the contributed post below.

Need More Hands On Deck? Why Outsourcing Could Be Your Best Option

For every one of us wanting to start an online business, or a business in any form, getting the resources together is a tumultuous task.

If we are starting off with a home-based, small business, it can be feasible to keep track of everything ourselves. But there are always going to be gaps in your knowledge, and this is why outsourcing certain tasks could be the best option for you.

Not only is outsourcing very popular and large companies take advantage of it by outsourcing certain procedures to offshore companies, you can take this model and do it yourself, albeit on a smaller scale.

But why is outsourcing beneficial, not just for you, but for everyone?

1. The Cost

We’ll start here, it’s a very cost-effective measure to get processes up and running that you wouldn’t necessarily know how to deal with.

On a small scale, you can acquire a web design company to revitalize your web platform, especially if you don’t have the know-how yourself. Of course, you could take it upon yourself to set up a website through online platforms like WordPress, but this is the time you could spend focusing on more important parts of the business, but also, with your limited knowledge, you might not be able to create a dynamic platform for your business.

Translating time into money, it would be more cost effective to have someone else do it for you, but also do it right!

2. It’s Quicker!

Going back onto the time is money theme, having the right person to accomplish a task means that it can be done in record time. Or you can set a deadline for a contractor to complete a certain task.

For example, if you are after written content, there are various freelancer websites, or content writer resources, where a reasonable amount of high-quality content can be done in a 24-hour turnaround.

This is fantastic for you if you are under pressure. If you are looking to get your business set up quickly, outsourcing is a vital tool.

3. Making The Work Easier To Handle

If it’s just you and one other person, outsourcing makes perfect sense because you’ve got more than one extra pair of hands!

If you are a one-woman band, the stress alone of getting everything set up, from the premises to the website, to the bookkeeping systems, can be incredibly overwhelming.

Getting someone to take these aspects, and complete them for you is going to reinvigorate your attitude towards the business.

If you feel weighed down by the stress of it all, you aren’t going to promote your company with vigor and enthusiasm. We all need time to focus and to process certain components of our company, and outsourcing gives us that opportunity.

To make outsourcing truly effective, you need to have the skill of communication down to a T. If you are outsourcing to a contractor on the other side of the world, you need to make sure you set out exactly what you want, and when you want it done by.

Some smaller companies can struggle with outsourcing, but the solution is to map everything out first. Do this, and it will be the best option for you.

Have you started outsourcing any of your work yet?  What are the most important benefits to you?
